Sounds silly. But it’s true. If you spend $500 on getting 1000 cheap pens the real cost is $2.50 each. Not $0.50.
This is how that works:
The industry standard for a low cost or just a plain boring pen, is that 80% will go in the bin or a draw never to be used or seen. So that’s a cost of $500 for 200 pens or $2.50 each! Now if that cheap pen gets used 50 times that’s a cost of $0.05 per view of your logo.
Better to spend $500 getting 100 pens for $5.00 each and give them to good customers who will love them, use them and hold onto them because that pen is now their favourite pen. If the pen is kept and used 200 times, the per logo view is $0.025 each! Twice as good as a cheap pen.
